The successful candidate(s) must be a good team player, confident, self-motivated and hard working. You will be a key player in our small team. Duties include assisting with food preparation, washing up, serving meals, cleaning of kitchen equipment, setting up and clearing the dining hall and working with the team to run an efficient service and carry out any other duties that may be requested by the cook.
Previous experience of working in a similar environment is desirable, but not essential.  Ideally the successful candidate will hold a Food Hygiene certificate, however training towards this will be given.
Hours of work are 10:15-1:45, Monday-Friday, term time only + 5 additional cleaning days.

Kitchen Assistant and Food Transporter, Sholden Primary School

The successful candidate must be self-motivated and able to work as part of a small team and on their own when required.

Duties include: Collecting the freshly cooked food from Hornbeam Primary School, (so a driving license and your own transport is a must) and returning the dirty crockery, cutlery and serving dishes after, helping with the washing up at Hornbeam.
On arrival at Sholden school, you will bring the food into the hall, set up the dining room for service and clearing down afterwards, recording food temperatures and serving meals. Ideally the successful candidate will hold a Food Hygiene certificate, however training towards this will be given.
Hours of work are 11:00-2:00, Monday-Friday, term time only + 5 additional cleaning days.

Cooks x2 – Folkestone/Hythe Area

Do you have previous experience of working  within a busy catering environment?
We have a fantastic opportunity in the Folkestone and Surrounding Area for 2 Cooks.  These vacancies are for 27.5-30 hours per week, term time only, plus 5 cleaning days.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare, cook and present food to high standards
  • Ensure that the working environment is clean, tidy and safe
  • Effectively supervise a team
  • Be responsible for all aspects general food preparation, serving the pupils, washing up, cleaning duties, ordering food and the manual handling of tables and chairs. Other duties as deemed reasonable.

Skills and Experience

  • Friendly and helpful disposition.
  • Experience as a cook with a passion for food
  • Supervisory experience in a similar role and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Qualification.
  • A high level of personal cleanliness.
  • Willingness to undertake training.
  • Physically able to arrange dining room facilities when required.

Education and Knowledge

  • Food Hygiene Level 2.
  • Basic numeracy.
  • Basic literacy.
  • Knowledge of hygiene regulations, management of health & safety and nutritional food standards (desirable)
