Mobile Kitchen Assistant required for Folkestone and Hythe area
The successful candidate must be a flexible and willing to travel as you will be a key player in a mobile team covering sickness and holidays. You must hold a driving licence and have access to your own transport. You will need to be confident, self-motivated and hard working.
Duties include: Assisting with food preparation, washing up, setting up the dining room for service and clearing down afterwards, serving meals, cleaning kitchen equipment and working with a small kitchen team to run an efficient service.
Previous experience of working in a similar environment is desirable, but not essential. Ideally the successful candidate will hold a Food Hygiene certificate, however training towards this will be given.
Hours of work are 10:30-1:30, Monday-Friday, term time only + 5 additional cleaning days.

Salary £11.44 per hour, plus mileage allowance

Cook – Folkestone/Hythe Area
- Prepare, cook and present food to high standards
- Ensure that the working environment is clean, tidy and safe
- Effectively supervise a team
- Be responsible for all aspects general food preparation, serving the pupils, washing up, cleaning duties, ordering food and the manual handling of tables and chairs. Other duties as deemed reasonable.
Skills and Experience
- Friendly and helpful disposition.
- Experience as a cook with a passion for food
- Supervisory experience in a similar role and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Qualification.
- A high level of personal cleanliness.
- Willingness to undertake training.
- Physically able to arrange dining room facilities when required.
Education and Knowledge
- Food Hygiene Level 2.
- Basic numeracy.
- Basic literacy.
- Knowledge of hygiene regulations, management of health & safety and nutritional food standards (desirable)
